About the FRSF
FRSF Mission
Flint Science Fair Inc is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose purpose is "...to stimulate an active interest among young people in the several fields of scientific study and to give public recognition to talented students by sponsoring and promoting expositions of science projects developed and built by students and awarding prizes and scholarships to students who create and display outstanding projects."
For over five decades the FASF has provided a forum for students of our service region to develop their scientific and engineering talents. FASF continues to focus its energy and resources to assist in the development of youth, and to promote careers in science and engineering.
Regional Nature
The Flint Regional Science Fair exposition is one of 6 recognized “regional” fairs in Michigan that are affiliated with the INTEL International Science & Engineering Fair. Students eligible to participate in the Flint Regional Science Fair include all 4th through 12th grade public, private, parochial and home schooled students from Genesee, Lapeer, Shiawassee, St. Clair and Tuscola Counties, and students from Michigan counties not served by a recognized regional fair.
Each participant deserves to be recognized. The FASF Board believes that every student who develops and exhibits a project at the FRSF is already a winner. For that reason every exhibitor at the fair will receive a prize. Through the vital and generous support of our Sponsors, FASF was able to present students who achieved “Finalist” designation awards, prizes, scholarships and bonds that in 2011 totaled approximately $35,000. Students whose projects do not merit Finalist designation receive prizes and ribbons to recognize and encourage their participation. Students also compete for Special Awards sponsored by other organizations and College & University Scholarships.
